Our After-School Program offers children the chance to slow down, connect, and learn with horses in a supportive and enriching environment. Each session draws on the principles of Equine Assisted Learning (EAL), where horses gently guide children in building confidence, resilience, and self-awareness.
Held every Tuesday and Thursday from 4.00 – 5.30pm, these small-group sessions include:
Hands-on time with horses and ponies — grooming, observing, and learning gentle horsemanship skills
Fun, creative activities such as leading ponies through obstacle courses, interactive games, and projects with colourful props
A focused Equine Assisted Learning activity designed to support emotional regulation, communication, and relationship-building
Over time, children benefit from:
Developing confidence and self-esteem
Regulating anxiety and learning strategies for calmness
Understanding and communicating personal boundaries
Exploring feelings in a safe and supported way
Building lasting friendships in a small, nurturing group
Parents are encouraged to connect with Lou before or after sessions to discuss their child’s unique strengths and challenges, ensuring each child receives the most from their time at Lillico Nurture.
This ongoing program is particularly supportive for children navigating anxiety, autism, or ADHD, while being an engaging, uplifting activity for any child who loves horses and thrives in nature.
